SECOND ARROW COUNSELING
Hi There.
Hi, I’m Erin Taylor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of professional experience. I specialize in helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and high-masking autism. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe therapy is a space for healing, growth, and connection, where you can feel truly seen and supported.
About Me and My Work
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked in diverse settings that have shaped my approach to therapy. My career began at a sober living facility, where I co-facilitated group therapy for women navigating substance use challenges. I later served as a therapist and clinical director in a partial hospitalization program, where I supported adults managing chronic mental health conditions, supervised clinicians, and designed therapeutic programs tailored to client needs.
I’ve also worked in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, helping individuals through pain management, mental health concerns, and major life transitions. During the COVID pandemic, I supported these clients while they were facing profound loss, isolation, and trauma, which reinforced my belief in the importance of flexibility and compassion in therapy.
In 2020, I transitioned to private practice, where I focus on trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care. Establishing Second Arrow Counseling in 2022 allowed me to fully dedicate myself to helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and high-masking autism in a way that feels collaborative and affirming.
As a neurodivergent therapist raising a neurodivergent child, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to my work. I know how important it is to feel seen, validated, and supported in environments that often fail to accommodate differences. This lived experience informs my approach, ensuring therapy is not only effective but also affirming and compassionate.
These experiences have guided me to an integrative approach, blending cognitive-based methods, somatic techniques, and insight-oriented therapies. My practice is also rooted in attachment theory, helping clients understand how their relationships with themselves and others shape their patterns and experiences. I focus on creating a collaborative, affirming space where we can uncover what feels stuck, address limiting patterns, and reconnect with your strengths.
In my free time, I am a macro photography enthusiast; I love searching for and capturing the endless variety and misunderstood beauty of insects and spiders. I also love spending time with my kids and rediscovering the joy of play. Other favorite pastimes include building Legos, reading, and immersing myself in the music of Talking Heads. David Byrne’s lyrics have a way of sparking curiosity and reminding me to pause and ask, “Well, how did I get here?”
