AREAS OF FOCUS

Where experiences

intersect.

People come to therapy with different experiences, questions, and needs. My work focuses on adult neurodivergence and the ways it can intersect with burnout, trauma, relationships, and identity. These are some of the areas we might explore together.

01 / NEURODIVERGENCE

Understanding how you experience the world.

Neurodivergence can shape how we process information, experience our surroundings, communicate, and navigate everyday demands. My work focuses on the varied ways ADHD, autism, and AuDHD can be experienced in adulthood, including the challenges that arise when individual needs, available capacity, and environmental expectations don't align.

ADHD

ADHD can affect far more than attention. Therapy may involve exploring executive functioning, motivation, emotional experiences, inconsistent capacity, and the gap between knowing what you want to do and being able to do it. Together, we can examine what contributes to these difficulties and explore practical supports that fit the way you function.

Autism & AuDHD

Autistic and AuDHD experiences can involve differences in sensory processing, communication, predictability, attention, and regulation. Therapy can offer space to understand your individual profile, explore the effects of masking and unmet needs, and navigate the sometimes competing demands of autism and ADHD without treating your differences as problems to correct.

Burnout & Regulation

Burnout can develop when ongoing demands exceed our capacity to recover, particularly when we're navigating sensory overload, masking, emotional demands, or environments that require constant adaptation. Therapy can help explore the factors contributing to exhaustion, recognize patterns of overwhelm, and identify what might support regulation, recovery, and a more sustainable relationship with everyday demands.

Trauma & Protective Patterns

Difficult experiences, particularly those that occur repeatedly or early in life, can shape how we experience safety, relationships, and ourselves. Therapy offers space to explore the protective responses that may have developed around these experiences, understand how they influence the present, and gradually build a different relationship with patterns that may no longer serve us.

02 / OVERWHELM & ADAPTATION

When coping comes at a cost.

The ways we adapt to our circumstances can help us manage difficult experiences, meet expectations, and keep moving through everyday life. But those adaptations can also require significant effort, especially when demands are ongoing or our needs remain unsupported. This area of my work explores the relationship between stress, past experiences, protective responses, and the capacity we have available in the present.

03 / IDENTITY & SELF-UNDERSTANDING

Reconsidering the story you know.

Our understanding of who we are develops through our experiences, relationships, and the expectations we've learned to navigate. Sometimes that understanding shifts as we discover new information about ourselves or begin questioning beliefs we've carried for years. This area of my work explores identity, belonging, self-perception, and the process of developing a relationship with yourself that reflects your own experiences, needs, and values.

Late Identification & Diagnostic Grief

Discovering that you're autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD in adulthood can bring relief, grief, anger, validation, and uncertainty, sometimes all at once. It may also change how you understand past experiences, relationships, and opportunities for support that weren't available or recognized. Therapy offers space to process these responses, revisit your personal history with new understanding, and explore what this discovery means for your identity and the life you're building.

Masking, Self-Trust & Relationships

Years of adapting to expectations, managing how others perceive you, or prioritizing others' needs can make it difficult to recognize your own preferences, limits, and sense of identity. Therapy can help explore the influence of masking and learned expectations, strengthen your ability to recognize and trust your internal experiences, and navigate relationships with greater awareness of your needs, boundaries, and values.

You don't have to fit neatly into a category.

Your experiences may span several of these areas, or you may not be sure which ones apply to you. You don't need a specific diagnosis or a clear explanation of what you're experiencing to begin. We can start with what brings you here and explore the connections together.
